Waste sorting in holiday homes
Food waste
Food waste is more than what you can compost at home. In addition to fruit and vegetables, you can put meat products and processed food scraps in the food waste compartment of the garbage bin. It could be the burnt oatmeal, leftover gravy or chicken carcass.
National criteria
To ensure that waste sorting is more or less the same throughout Denmark, the Danish Environmental Protection Agency has created the national criteria below.

Principles:
- Easily biodegradable
- Food leftovers regardless of type
Examples:

(must be sorted into materials such as glass, metal, plastic or residual waste)
- Cotton buds and nappies
(in your garbage bin as residual waste)
