Keeping the beaches clean
Here in the Varde Municipality, both residents and tourists enjoy the North Sea and the white sandy beaches. That’s why it is also important for us to work together to protect the environment and keep the beaches clean.
The Varde Municipality allocates DKK 1.2 million annually for keeping the beach clean, and the municipality collects approximately 100 tonnes of marine debris on the beaches each year. In addition, the municipality cleans the beaches twice a week during the peak season from April to October, when the beaches are especially full of visitors.
The landowners’ associations, visitors and Varde Municipality all work together to keep the area’s beaches clean. You can also help and make a difference by taking your rubbish to the nearest bin after your trip to the beach. You are also welcome to take a trip to the beach yourself and pick up marine debris and other rubbish you encounter along the way.
