Water supply

Our most important task as a water utility company is to ensure that our customers have clean, fresh water in their taps every day.

We work with the planning, establishment, operation, and maintenance of our water supply systems. In addition, we provide guidance and service to our customers and measure water consumption for billing purposes.

The company is certified according to ISO 22000, which is an international standard. In short, this means that the water's path is risk-assessed all the way from the water catchment areas until it is delivered to you as a customer. This includes a review of all workflows, processes and procedures. Where the greatest risks have been identified, monitoring has been established so that water quality is continuously managed and maintained at a high level.

Every year, we send almost nine million m3 of delicious drinking water via approx. 2,000 kilometers of water pipes to our customers in six separate supply areas: Esbjerg supply area, Ribe supply area, Bramming supply area, Kvong supply area, Nr. Nebel/Lunde supply area and Varde supply area. The largest daily delivery in summer is 30,000 m3, while the smallest daily delivery in winter is 18,500 m3.

Much of the water for Esbjerg is extracted 30 and 40 kilometers from the city in Vejen Municipality. Nr. Nebel and Lunde are supplied from our wells, but the water is treated and pumped out by the private Klinting Waterworks. In Bramming, there is a co-operation between the private waterworks and DIN Forsyning, so water is exchanged as needed. In Ribe and Varde, the water is extracted from spring fields close to the towns.

We want to deliver clean, cold, and clear drinking water to our customers and therefore focus daily on quality and safety at all stages from water well drilling to distribution.
